prosecution of the Klephts. Other attractions include the Byzantine church ofSt
Peter with the beautiful sculptured decoration and the religious paintings ofthe 13
century. Next to it, there's the shadow of the big plane tree and the springwith the
limpid water.
Kastaniais the village where most of the byzantine churches are located. There are
at least eight of them.
The aforementioned plot borders on and touches the community road of Kastania-
Saidona. ft takes 10 minutes to reach the sea and Stoupa and 20 minutes (15km)to reach Kardamili by car. Also, there is another rural road that goes past theback side of the plot.
